I have been waiting to write this post for a while but didn’t really know where to start so I’ll just start writing and if anything needs to be clarified just email me or comment below.
I’m pumped about this. I don’t want to make a long story about this but I’ll give you a quick back story about why I’m pumped and how being involved in a Challenge Group, specifically the 300 Challenge helped me with my fitness and focus when doing a program like P90X.
HISTORY:
The 300 Challenge was created by me in August 2007. I got the idea one day while visiting a friends Message Board when someone jokingly said they should dress as Spartans from the movie 300 for Halloween. I thought that was an awesome idea and I made it my own. Prior to the idea I need to share with you were I was in my life. In Summer of 2006 I had just finished my first round of P90X. Prior to that I lost 31lbs with Power 90 but I was smoking. On my 26th birthday I quit smoking and started to Yo-Yo. I went from 185 to 205lbs. I became an Independent Coach for Beachbody in March 2007. I maintained the 205 for some time but never really felt like me. I began to suffer from depression. My doctor put me on Welbutrtin because he said it would help especially since I just quit smoking. (Welburtrin, though not indicated, has been used to help people quite smoking.)
July of 2007, I went to a Tony Horton Fitness Camp in NY and that is where a lot of things changed for me. I met my coach, Traci Morrow, I learned if Beachbody Coaching was a scam or if it was real but most importantly I learned the value of being surrounded by other like minded individuals. People who have had success or just beginning to have success with their fitness. Back home I wasn’t getting the support or encouragement I needed to stay focused on my goals. Everyone else was going in a different direction than me. They didn’t understand why it was important to me that I ate right, looked right and felt right. Without that positive support it was easy for me not to push play or eat well. I realized at camp that if I was going to lose the smokers weight I had to create a positive supportive environment that would help me achieve that. The 300 Challenge was just what I needed to have results.
The 300 Challenge originally was a 90-day Halloween Transformation Challenge, to sculpt our bodies into the ultimate Halloween costume. But since our very first 300 Challenge in 2007 it has changed and evolved. The 300 has had P90MAX challenges, Memorial Day weekend Challenges and this challenge has been ongoing for 5 years now which is why I’m now calling it 300 Challenge: Legacy. We’ve been around and are starting to leave our mark on people’s lives.
What is the 300 Challenge: LEGACY?
The LEGACY challenge is a 90 day challenge group powered by the Beachbody Challenge (more on that later). It is very similar to the original challenge which is garunteed to provide you with the support, motivation, encouragement and accountability you need to achieve success with your fitness program. There only difference is it is no longer just about Halloween or Memorial Day Weekend (MDW Challenge) and you it is going to be private with smaller numbers. In the past we started the challenge with 100 people but only had 10 or so maintain posting and sharing till the end. People got lost in the shuffle. So the group is smaller so you can get more 1-on-1 attention and less people will fall through the cracks.
What will the 300 Challenge: LEGACY Group provide and why is it effective?
It will be whatever you need it to be. For me it was about support, motivation, leading and helping others by first helping myself. It is an extremely positive group that will challenge and push you to succeed. I send out weekly challenges that you build upon week to week to help you achieve your goals over the next 90 days. It is effective because like the Spartans, we have each others back. We won’t let each other down. When you commit to this challenge group, you’re committing to something bigger than yourself. You’re committing to be a Spartan cause “Only the hard, only the strong may call themselves Spartans.” We’ll help you with questions about your workout program whether it is P90X, P90X2, INSANITY, Turbo Fire or more. We’ll offer nutritional tips and advice and together we’ll achieve goals. Plus it is a smaller group. No more than 10 people are added to the group each month so space is limited and there are no more than 30 people in the group at a time. Having a smaller group makes it easier to communicate and support one another. Plus having new blood come into the the challenge group the first Monday or each month adds new life and excitement to the group.
How do I join the 300 Challenge Group?
The first thing that you have to do is make me your coach if I’m not already. As you already know (or may not know I guess), it’s free to make me your coach (click here to do so). By making me your coach, you will have constant access to me for questions and support and I will be checking in daily with each challenge group. Next, you have to be using Shakeology and a Beachbody program like P90X, Insanity, or Turbo Fire just to name a few that are avaiable. This challenge is open to both men and woman because remember “Only Spartan Woman Give Birth to Real Men.”
The reason Shakeology is a requirement is because it’s a product that I’ve been using for over 3 years now, am 100% confident that works, and have recommended to literally everyone I know, including my friends and family. What will I need to do once I’m in the 300 Challenge Group?
I will send you a prep video a week out from your start date that will review all the expectations and things you need to do before beginning. But in a nutshell The first thing that you will need to do is share your goals with everyone else in the group, including me. Once in the group, you will need to post daily that you’ve completed your workout, followed the nutrition plan, and ask any questions or provide support to the other group members.
