Just do your best. Obviously, straight is ideal but try not to sleep for 6 hrs at night then take a 2 hour nap during the day. That’s not 8 hours. Just do your best. For one week try and get 7.5 solid hours of sleep during the night. There are things you can’t control, like a 4 year old who wants their mom because of a bad dream or wet the bed and you need to change the sheets. It’s a challenge and the point is to start thinking “What steps do I need to take in order make progress in achieving this goal?” Just do your best everyday.
